GLACIAL- plodding and uncompromising; forgotten and remembered - held within barely perceptible time. This duo recording project of Paul Kikuchi and Evan Schiller began in 2005. Every few years PK and ES would convene and record evocative sounds and textures, rhythms and drones. Paul would bring his handmade percussion instruments [from circular saw blades struck with a variety of mallets to a "Teeterphone"- an instrument Kikuchi built on a vibraphone chassis out of metal parts salvaged from junkyards] and Schiller would record and process them in extreme ways, while also playing synthesizers and samplers, sometimes drums, also recorded in unorthodox ways.

The pieces on these two albums, ++Glacial++ and —Glacial—, are improvisations that have been highly deconstructed, sometimes more than a decade after they were recorded. Both Kikuchi and Schiller are primarily drummer/percussionists, as well as recordists/producers, who gravitate toward highly manipulated yet organic sounds.

“--” is mixed by Kikuchi, and “++” is mixed by Schiller, both using the same hours of source material. Recorded between 2005-2016.

Note: Most songs on this album segue into one another, track 22 is the whole album as one file.
